We have boys so far Harry and Archer (known as Archie usually) and are now expecting boy/girl twins.

We are looking for something a bit more unusual this time I think... More along the lines of Archer than Harry... But we are stuck! Tricky with twins as you want something that 'goes' but doesn't 'match' iykwim...

I really love Juniper. Calypso? Marnie?

Less keen on your boys names, I love Jack but it's not exactly unusual. Rufus?

Rufus is a good call...

I feel like if I did one unusual name then used Jack for the boy then it would sound weird? We do like Jack, it was first choice for our eldest - Harry wasn't even on the list but he ended up that anyway!

I like juniper lots at the moment - Juno for nn maybe? Would like a name that's unusual but with a more common nickname.

I love Digby but people keep saying it's a dog's name.

Dulcie was my fave for ages but people are saying it reminds them of Darcey, which is a name I'm not really fond of. Also no nn really - Dull is perhaps unfortunate?!

I have liked Ted for a while, but feel like it's a nn rather than a real name but I don't really like the long forms of it...

I'd go for Edgar (Ted) and Blythe (which isn't on your list :o )

Austin & Ailsa sounds lovely but maybe too much with already having another A name?

Have you considered Ted short for Theodore.

Juniper NN Juno is lovely.

I like Jack btw. Harry, Archie, Jack and Juniper all go well.

I really don't like 'Theo' for some reason and not sure I could avoid it permanently?

I'm not sure about matching initials for twins and also feel a little like the only girl stands out there as the 'unusual' name?

I'm not sure that it matters. I don't think people will think about whether the names match or not. Although after saying that I wouldn't give both the twins outlandish names because then you would have Harry, Archie and....the exotically named twins.

I like Daisy as well from your list.

Daisy, Violet, Poppy, Elsa, Megan, Nancy, Amber and Florence are all good names, but not unusual. I know at least 3 of each. Definitely more Harry than Archer.

Mabel, Dorothy, Dulcie, Ivy, Dana, Iris and Esther are all in the old lady chic category. I don't like any of them and they're very 'of the moment'.

Sorrel and particularly Briar are both terrible. Both far more 'quirky' than Archer.

Polly, Margot, Romily, Eliza and April are in the 'mainstream, but underused' category, which is nice. I like April best.

Wren, Sage, Willow, Lila, Lyra, Juniper, Lavender and Ailsa are all in the 'we're trying desperately to give our DC a quirky name' category, which is probably the same category that Archer falls into. I like Wren and Lavender best.

My favourite from your list are; Violet, Florence, April, Wren and Lavender.

Jack, Ted, Stanley, Wilfred, Oscar and Owen are all good names, but again not unusual. I know at least 3 of each (about 15 Jacks!). I like Owen a lot. I also like Jackson, which is a bit more unusual and surnamey like Archer is.

Sidney and Chester are old man chic. I don't like either.

Digby and Monty are fab as long as the baby is a puppy. If it's likely to be a human I would avoid.

Austin, Rafferty and Rowan are in the 'mainstream, but underused' section. I like Austin and love Rowan (although I like it more for a girl).

Forrest and Fox are too 'trying to be quirky' for my taste.

My favourites from your list are; Jack/Jackson, Owen, Oscar, Austin, Rafferty and Rowan. I probably wouldn't use Austin with Archer though because they're quite similar.

It's so funny seeing people comment on the list as it's often quite a clear divide on 'my' names and 'husband' names. For what it's worth I named Harry (although I do recognise it's a bit boring) my favourite girl name was historically Daisy, although I think it's a bit cutesy with Harry and Archie, and husband named Archer. He likes Fox and loves Forrest.

I've had a couple of names scrapped off my list - Hazel I really like and avoids the -ee ending and husband isn't keen on Ted.

Last week I suggested Romily and Austin as a pair (poss Romy and Auzzie?) but I don't think he's heard the name Romily before and it sounds made up to him I think but to me it's not that out there. Same with Dulcie, he'd never heard of it.

To be honest we will probably just take one each on the day lol! I HATE choosing names!! I'm still not sold on either of the names we chose for the boys to be honest!

You have a lovely list!
Love violet, Polly, Rowan and Ted. I'm a twin, they're the best!

Daisy is so common and overused, I know quite a few and 2 separate sets of sisters called Daisy and Poppy.
Violet, Mabel and Margot are very old lady ish.
Forrest makes me think of Gump.
I love Romilly and Willow and Rafferty.

I think my husband wants a more 'unusual' name - I'm more of the old lady/man persuasion... I don't mind that my eldest is Harry - very popular but he is a very straight-laced young chap and it suits him. He's not really interested in standing out from the crowd :-) my youngest is already demanding we call him Archer, his real name, not Archie. So I quite like that option of having some thing more unusual with a nickname. Of course, my husband's not a planner so it's kind of by the by as we won't decide until they are here lol...

I have an Archie.
His step siblings are Harry, Megan and Charlie

Naming one person is hard, I don't envy you having to name 2 at once Wink
