We are stuck. I am bored and have nothing else to think about whilst dh is laid back and is giving no suggestions or opinions.. I like traditional but quirky, more the nickname, also middle name needs to be Irish (dh is) Dd Margaret Roisin, surname starts with s, two syllables, tt in the middle. . I like

Nathaniel (he doesn't mind it) but not sure if Nate is too American and too many t's with surname.
Patrick (but don't like paddy, same t problem.
Ethan, but dh isn't able to pronounce it...(eaten!)
Rowan
Rory
Niall, although not sure about this one
Declan, he doesn't like nn Dec (due to 'that feckin eejit on itv')

DH likes
Ragnar. Yep. I know. Icelandic apparently...
Daniel.. I don't know if it's classic or just a bit boring. I don't really like it.
That is the sum total, apart from the odd Irish name (setanta, Fionn, for example, that he immediately withdraws because he says me trying to pronounce them are bad enough. I've said the middle name can be as oirish as he likes as we never use Dds.

I am convinced the reason this baby isn't being tempted out is because he knows he doesn't have a name...

I know three Maggie's

One has brothers called Nicholas and Hugh

Another has brothers called James and Thomas

The third has brothers called Anthony and Patrick

All the names you have chosen are lovely. I really like Patrick and considered it for DS and he is at school with a little boy called Niall. Daniel is lovely too.

What about Brendan, Gerard or Matthew?

RJ, you may laugh, but she is Maggie because she was breech..someone commentEd..''the baby's not for turning' Grin

I like some of those. Am warming to Patrick, just know he's going to end up as paddy, pat etc.
Is Nate or Nat as mnemonic for Nathaniel too 'american'?

How about Christopher or Jonathan?

Maybe Danny...although...Danny boy, Der Der Der dumdum...

Danny or Daniel Patrick. Could be one of the oirish names he likes then as middle. I like Dara, or even Danny Patrick.
Oh I don't know, I change my mind daily myself...
Conall I like too..Nathaniel still my fave so far, it's DH middle name.
lucky you thatsnot with Maggie too ..it's a top name..DH is Jeremy so that is funny that you have a Jerry!

See I like the idea of Christopher, kit as a nickname..don't think dh will go for it though. Don't like Chris though, I know a few who are tossers...
but then I teach boys, so all names have a connotation somewhere, pretty much!

Love Patrick! Gorgeous, underused name. Like this much the best of your list.

And I don't think it would be automatically shortened. I know 2 adult Patricks and they have never been Paddy/Pats

Good luck!

See I actually like Bart...but I'm not prepared to go through this again on the offchance of having a girl and calling her Lisa! What if I had a boy?! Would have to do homer...where would it end?!

I like lots on those lists ms and river, will try them out on him later...

Americas he just cannot...it involves spitting when he tries the 'th' sound!
