Amoura? I really love it, but I think everyone will hate it, not that I am too fussed ( not even pregnant yet :) )

I think it is a lovely name, far better than calling her a name that every other child has Smile

It sounds like the name of a massage parlour that offers extras.

Sorry don't like it and yup will spend her whole life spelling it for people and pronouncing it .

I think it sounds pretty, though if I heard it out loud I would guess the spelling to be 'Amora'.

It's gonna inspire a lot of puns.

Maura, or indeed Moira, might be alternatives? Its nice, though I wouldn't use it myself due to potential spelling problems. My dad has a welsh name and told me once he purposefully chose "normal" English names for us because he didn't want us to experience a lifetime of correcting people.

I think a Spanish name meaning love would be Amora, OP.

kelda · 19/01/2015 21:35

What about Amara?

Report
mupperoon · 19/01/2015 21:36

But Spanish for love is amor. It's more like a tarted up French amour. Sounds American to me.

It's not a Spanish name for love that I know. Love is amor in Spanish.

And if you go with Amora - that's a brand of mustard. Hmmm.
