I've settled on 3 names for girls that I like and wonder what the general feeling was towards said names so thought I'd ask you lovely (and brutally honest) MNetter's what your thoughts are and maybe to add suggestions.

No order of preference:
Renna
Cassandra (nn Cassie)
Selena

I like Cassandra, and Cass or Cassie as a nickname.

Dislike Renna (too close to rennet for me). Not keen on Selena, prefer Serena.

Cassandra vote here. Lovely name. Would have chosen it but didn't like back story, which was really bleeding silly of me. Luckily I like the name I chose but Cassandra is so romantic and just trips off the tongue.

Hate renna, like the other 2.

Cassandra is the best. But I went to school with a lovely selena.

Cassandra is a lovely name but the meaning is not great. It's the one who brings bad news

Cassandra is great. Cass/ie as well. Selena is fine but I too like Serena better. Don't know Renna at all, but know a Reina, which is okay too.

I prefer the spelling Celina, but that's probably because I knew one so it's a more familiar spelling. Like Cassandra too. Never heard of Renna - how would you pronounce it? To rhyme with Jenna?

loislines I'd always had Renna as rhyming with Jenna yes.

I know that the name Cassandra has some what gloomy connotations due to her predictions in greek mythology etc, but I still feel it is a beautiful name despite the history of it.

I love Cassandra. DH wont even consider it because of the greek mythology thing. I did point out that our daughter's name actually means 'Sea lord' - apparently that's different!!

go with Cassandra, its a lovely name.

I'd go for Cassandra. I have a Cassie but she's just Cassie. She gets called Cass 90% of the time by us and at school.

Don't like Renna. As PP said it makes me think of calf rennet.

Not keen on Selena either. It sounds a bit wet and a bit 80's to me.

I like Cassandra or Selena, I prefer the Selina spelling though.

Really like Cassandra.

Not keen on Selena.

I can't decide on Renna. I've never heard it before. I think I quite like it.

I knew an awful Renna once, but if I try to block her out, I do quite like the name. I don't like the other two choices, but do like Cassie.

Agree with other posters on Selena - I prefer Serena or even Serene. Not too keen on Cassandra but like Cassia and don't really like Renna however I do like Renee

Cassandra is lovely, Renna is awful and Selena is okay but it reminds me of Selena Gomez and that girl off Home and Away!

I don't Renna, sounds quite ugly to me. Which is odd as I love Carenza/Kerensa! I can see the appeal of Cassandra but I know an awful one so just think of her which puts me off. My favourite from your list is Selena. How about Serenna to combine the two? Quite like that!

Aelfrida You may be onto something there with Serenna! Will keep that in mind see how I feel...

Cassandra is probably my fave over all right now, DH isn't awestruck by it but it's tough! Thanks ladies.
