Eve?

Good evening, could you please let me know if you feel Eve is too popular? I really do not like Evie but love Eve however, I wonder if the overuse of Evie has killed it. Other names that made the list are Genevieve, Stephanie, Marnie, Julia, Tessa. Thanks for your suggestions.

I haven't met any but I also haven't met any Olivia's- so I dunno how popular it is. I like eve.

I also like Julia and Marnie. Marnie sounds quite sweet valley high to me. Julia is a nice easy spelling and I haven't met one under 25 recently.

My eldest is Eve in year 5 and she's the only 1 in her school.
I'm also in your alternative list too so am slightly torn...0

OK well every other girl round here is called Eve or Evie.

How about Niamh, Never or a maeve?

Evie, Eva, Ava etc are very popular so Eve kind of blends in with that trend. I like Genevieve and Julia best from your list.

Thank you everyone. I think Maeve is lovely but a no no for DH and I'm not mad on Niamh. I guess we need to go back to the drawing board. I would love a strong pretty name but not overly popular.

Bit out there but could you have Genevieve with Eve as a short?

Useful to check popularity. Also keep in mind name families. Therefore Isobel, Sophie, Esme and their spelling variants are also quite popular.

My eldest is Eve, only one in her large secondary. Lots of Evie's though. She was the only one in her primary too.

Legions of them here...eve/Evie/Eva so similar. At one stage one third of girls in dds class named a variant of eve. Very confusing and quite abit of name regret. Honestly I would avoid

When I was growing up I was the only one and quite often as a kid I encountered Confused reactions when I said my name. I still have never met another adult Eve. I can't say I'm sorry it's so popular now though. My mum was clearly right, it's a fine name, she was just a bit 'avant la lettre'.
