Looking for a name that works well in Italian and English, but keep coming back to an added problem. My own family are from Yorkshire and pronounce the 'o' in an elongated way. As most Italian boys names end with an o, this does put me off a bit!

The surname is Italian R U S S O (with the u sound pronounced as oo).

Names on our list include:

Montague or Montgomery (Monte or Monty)
Francesco (shot name Frankie)
Alessandro (short name Sandy)
Valentino (short name ?, but not Val)
Rocco (DP not keen)
Milo
Loris

I think its inevitable that with a long name it will get shortened, so the short name is important to me.

He will have an older sibling named M a r i e l l a

Thoughts please!
