Baby Boy Names - Help Please

Hi

We are expecting a brother or sister for Lewis in early November. We have chosen our girls name and are struggling big time with a boys name! The two names we are currently considering are Finlay (slight concern about his name as have a friend with a baby named Finn and it's pretty similar) and Oliver (wee bit concerned about popularity as didn't realise how popular Lewis was when I chose it.)

Can you please give an opinion on your preference between Finlay and Oliver and if there are any other suggestions, please do suggest!

Thanks!

I prefer Oliver with nn Ollie.

Some other ideas:
Alex
Oscar
Isaac
Joshua
Jacob
Benjamin

What's the girls name. - how does it sound masculinised?

Thanks for those ByeByeButterfly...Alexander (nn Alex) is one we had mentioned, might bring that back to the drawing board!

Girls name would be Alice

I prefer Finlay to Oliver

What about Fintan?

I'm loving the name Martin at the moment and it is along the lines of Oliver and Finlay

Both Oliver and Finlay seem way more popular than Lewis. So you may want to avoid both if you're worried about popularity.

I like the suggestions of Alasdair, Rafferty and Isaac. Or how about Elliot, Reuben or Quentin?

Thanks for those suggestions. U love rafferty, but it doesn't go with our surname!

Think writing this down has made me realise I prefer Finlay to Oliver!

Lewismummy, if you are concerned about popularity I should tell you we have an Alex (4) and so it seems does every other family in the area - there is always at least one other at every event! It is a lovely name though.

My cousin's little boys are Alex and Lewis!

Love all your names. Finlay is one of my faves as its one of my best friend's names.

I prefer Oliver, but I do like Finlay.

Alex is classic, but if you're concerned about popularity I'd probably choose something completely different, since (as far as I'm aware) all 3 are far more popular than Lewis.

In regards to your friend's Finn, don't worry about it. If they're not close then it doesn't matter at all, and if they are, then it's just a matter of referring to your LO as the full Finlay when you're together.

I prefer Oliver to Finlay (which I'm not keen on), but I like Alexander the most.
