Reminds me of the drip from Emmerdale. Awful sorry. Lauren is a bit better.

Yeah, I think that's really nice, might add it to my list!

She will spend her life being called Lauren!

I like it. I have always much preferred it to Lauren.

Laurel is nice, also Lorelei

I don't watch Emmerdale so not worried about a name matching a soap characters. So many hugely popular names come from soaps, not sure Laurel would be high up there though mind.

Lorelei is sweet too, will mention that :)

Laurie is a lovely nickname. I like both Laurel and Lauren.

I like old-fashioned Laura...

To me Laurie is short for Laurence, so I would assume was a boy.

I actually work with a Laurel and I don't think it is a very attractive name. I don't really like Lauren either (worked with one of them too) but do quite like Laura. I also work with a Lorrie, short for Lorraine.

To me Laurence is a girls name (I know 2 French ones), like Florence. (The feminine versions is Laurent and Florent). And Laurie sounds so girly imo.

Don't like it at all. Never heard it as a name.

I know a grown-up Laurel (early/mid-twenties) and I think it's lovely.

I know a grown up Laurie. Lovely name and usual for a girl in America.

Laurel is lovely too.

Laurie is popular as a girl's name in the US although not so much in recent years. In the UK it's probably more regularly used as a boys name short for Laurence or Lawrence.

I do really like Laurel and wouldn't shorten it myself as is lovely as it is Smile
