Sorry but I immediately think "wizadora" in fact I now have the theme tune stuck in my head. . Dora is nice could you use it as a name in its own right? Xx

Agreed about Wizadora - was on telly mid 90s when I was 6/7/8ish I think, also Isadora Duncan was the actress who died in the 1920s from being strangled by her scarf in an open top car (nice)...
However! DD is 5 days old and I think we're set on Isadora, it is a beautiful name and Dora is short and sweet, and I think knowing of those two connotations and still loving it and not caring has confirmed that we're going to go for it - her generation won't know of Wizadora and if they did it's a bit of a feeble name calling point. So she is named!!! :)

I prefer the spelling Isidora, since it is the feminine form of Isidore. Plus Isadora has 'sad' in it.

FWIW I'm not sure the manner of someone's death should be the defining consideration. Duncan was an acclaimed and talented actress.

Dora is my favourite name, but I don't love any of the longer forms! I think I'd go for Dorothea.

Arsenic - wasn't Isadora Duncan a ballet dancer? I thought she went to the then Soviet Union and opened a dance school.

Anyway, I think it is a lovely name good choice OP.
