Our final 2 choices.

Which do you prefer? Oh, and, popularity doesn't bother me Smile

I know I said that popularity doesn't bother me but I've just scrolled down and noticed all the Sophia's Shock

Sophia!

Olivia.

Sophia will always have to spell her name (is that with an F? With a Y? Etc) and explain how it's pronounced (Soph-ee-a or Soph-eye-a) and she'll be in a class with every other variation which will drive her teacher nuts.

Both are beautiful. But I think I prefer Sophia by a teeny tiny margin.

I like the meaning behind Sophia (goddess of wisdom) but I think I prefer the sound of Olivia. So my vote goes to Olivia. Very tough choice though, they're both lovely. :)

That's an American site burgatroyd, not relevant for UK where I assume OP is based? Also, both Babycenter.com (US site) and Babycentre.co.uk (UK site) do not show official stats, they only represent the registered members name choices if they choose to submit them. The official name stats for the UK in 2013 will be released by The Office of National Statistics (ONS) imminently. FWIW, the official ONS 2012 stats show that Olivia was higher in the rankings than Sophia (even when combining both Sophia and Sofia).

I would use Sofia. I much prefer it to Sophia for no rational reason.

They are both far too popular. How about Alicia or Lucia or Martha?
