Ivy-Rose.

Sorry, already my second thread. I really want Clover but DH has said no, no way, forgeddaboutit, stop banging on about Clover- it's a butter/cows name/stupid.

Names we can't have due to v close friends/family: Roisin, Iris, Cecilia, Gwen, Ella/Ellie, Orla and names I don't like: Lucy, Emma, Bryony and names already vetoed: Penny ummm and that's it, I think.

Help me. Please, please, please. At this rate I'm running away with the baby and naming her Clover.

Violet? Do you want to continue with a floral theme? Daisy, primrose, viola, cherry, hazel, lily, saffron, verbena, tansy?

Littleturkish · 19/07/2014 10:22

Like Primrose, but can't use it because of the Rose in Ivy-Rose.

Not fussed about floral theme. I like Violet, but DH vetoed that too. The others don't grab me- I've either taught children with that name and have negative connotations, or Lily and Daisy are SO popular, it's a shame because I do like them.

I think Constance but just always known as Connie. It gives more choice in adulthood. Saying that, I never use my full name, but I like that I have the choice iyswim.

Connie and Penny were on my list as was Bonnie but they would all have been in full on the bc.

Also, Sophie, Eve, Abigail,Melissa and Jasmine. I also like Felicity but Dh vetoed it.

First name to come to mind with Ivy in mind is Mabel? Love it.

Also love Violet and Clover but think the repeated v sound is too much.

Personally I would avoid another name ending in the y/ie sound. Makes for a much better sib set.

Martha
Clara
Alice

Pearl
Fleur
Flora (although your DP might not appreciate another name that makes him think of butter)
Iris (as a middle name?)

I like Willow, but DH thinks it's weird. Also like Grace, but my name means Grace so it feels a little self obsessed to use it.

If you like Clover, what about Chloe, once registered there'd be nothing to stop you creating your own nn.
