Kitty.

I love Kitty.

I also like Polly, so you can't go wrong with either as far as I'm concerned.

Kitty. I would be very tempted to do a longer Catherine variant name with Kitty as the known as name.

Kathleen
Caitlin
Catriona
Catrin

Etc

I love Kitty, but I'd use it as a nickname for Katharine. Not keen on Polly.

Kitty. Definitely.

I really don't like Polly.

Wow I have to say I'm surprised I thought Polly would come out on top as Kitty usually gets slated on here.

I had a great aunt Kitty who ran her own pub till she was nearly 90. She was one capable lady, bit of an ass kicker really, therefore Kitty gets my vote.

I quite like Polly too though.

Both of these were on my list for dd1. In the end I went for Polly and have never regretted it Smile.

Kitty as a nn for something longer (Katherine, Catriona etc).

I will be honest it would be Kitty on the BC, there is no way I'm am calling any child of mine Catherine, Kathleen, Catriona etc. I just really dislike those names and I'm not into the idea of something different on the BC.

If she really wanted options when she grows up she can legally change her name Wink Grin

Is it terrible that if I have a Polly I want to put her in baby grows with parrots on them and if I have a Kitty I want to put her in baby grows with little kittens on them! Blush

Of course after all this speculation re girls names it will end up another boy.....roll on August for the gender scan!!

I prefer Kitty and agree with you it’s nicer on it’s own than as a nickname. You can’t guarantee it would even get used as a nickname.
