Just read this on another thread, quite liking! However, wouldn't go for Cassius as don't like so much....After staring for hundreds of years so far at names lists, I feel like everything sounds weird - what are your thoughts on Cass (no long name), for a boy?

Squirm Tue 17-Jun-14 08:45:39

I quite like it.
I'd personally go for Caspar though.

I just can't lose 'friendly ghost' connotations!

It just makes me think you probably conceived or come from Castleford.

devoncreamtea Tue 17-Jun-14 08:59:21

I don't get it?

I worked with a bloke called Cass once - not a nn. I quite like the name (it's from a book I think?), but he did have all the usual issues with it, like people asking for the full name, how to spell it, getting mail addressed to 'Cath'... grin

I really like Cass for a boy but as a nn.

I wanted Caspian, Cassian or Cassius but my partner hates them.

Cassidy?

Not on it's own, but as a nickname it works.

I like it, but only as a nn. Like Cassian or Caspar as a longer verson.

I would assume it was short for Cassander.

I know a Cass, he's about 5/6. Lovely little fella, v arty parents.

I really like Caspian. Possibly because I fancied him in the BBC adaptation of the Narnia stories...

Ha Ha ham!!!

Cass has now moved to bottom of list - quite like the sound, but it's wearing off...

I love it. I know a girl called Cass, but it is a boy's name, isn't it?

Canidae Thu 19-Jun-14 15:35:02

I know a little boy called Castiel. Cass for short.

mynameisnotmichaelcaine Thu 19-Jun-14 22:38:43

Ds is Casper, he was going to be Cass for short, but we call him Beans instead. No idea why. He is still a baby though, so might be Cass in future. I really like it (obv).

ViviPru Thu 19-Jun-14 22:45:51

Funny, I love Cassius but have discounted it as I don't like Cass all that much.

enormouse Thu 19-Jun-14 22:48:49

I love it but I'm a supernatural fan.

devoncreamtea Thu 19-Jun-14 22:49:41

Tricky isn't it vivi? I have just done a similar thing with Alexander - love Alexander, not so keen on Alex - dunno why..!
