Would be known as Millie, but full name Camilla.

Thanks

I really like Camilla & Camille, not as fussed on Milly as a nickname.

or Millie even Blush

Honestly? Millie's been done to death, although Camilla itself is truly a lovely name. Never see any!

Honestly? - not my cup of tea at all.

I like Millie but Camilla is just Parker-Bowles to me

Camille?

Camille is beautiful. Camilla sounds harsher and Millie is a bit boring ATM

no, not for another few years, timing all bad

I love it, really elegant and Millie is so cute. Always makes me think of willowy blondes in Jilly Cooper novels!

I love camilla. I know a 24 year old swedish one who is the most gorgeous woman I've ever seen, so I think of her.

justhayley · 12/06/2014 23:41

I think it's lovely

I prefer Camille

I've only known one personally and though she was awful I always loved her name. Milkt!, Tilly, etc... These are very popular. Camilla is a gem.

Sorry I don't like it, it makes me think of camel. Millie is lovely on its own.

Why name her Camilla only to be called Millie?

I like it, I have a good friend called Camilla and she's fab.

Parker-Bowles. Til my dying day that is all I will see when I hear the name, unfortunately.

Camille is gorgeous I liked it for dd but it ran into our surname shame as its lovely.
If it wasn't for Camilla Parker- Bowles I would love Camilla too but that association is so strong I think it would be the first thing to pop into someone's head.
I'm not keen on Millie at all sorry too cutesy for my taste and very popular

I like it, although it does tend to make me think of Camel.

You need to be aware that despite all the bollox in the media, Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall WILL be Queen when Prince Charles acceeds to the throne (the Queen is the King's wife and that's that - if that wasn't going to happen they would not have been allowed to marry). So your DD will grow up with the same name as the Queen - just make sure you are OK with that.

I have a camilla. She is 4. She loves and adores her name and tells people firmly not to call her milla or Millie when they try to. I love it, and needless to say I never think of camilla Parker Bowles when I look at my sweet little girl :)

Parker-Bowles, alas. Too strong an association.

Millie is dull, overused and twee.

If you must have Millie, how about Romilly? Millicent is hideous I think, but that's another option.

There are also lots of names with the 'Millie' feel which aren't quite as overused. How about Polly, Josie, Cassie, Connie?

It's pretty. I know two (one about 40 and one who is 12). They are both often known as Milla which I think is a lot prettier than Millie.

Strangely, Camila (with one l) is, I think, top 10 in America. But it isn't even top 300 in the UK.

Cammilla and Camille are gorgeous but for gods sake don't go with Millie/Milly as a shortening, it's so overdone and therefore as boring as fuck, bluntly.

I agree with balloonslayer - at some point Charles will become king and we will have a new queen camilla.

At the moment camilla has quite a low profile and is rarely called camilla by the press - its always "prince Charles and the duchess of Cornwall went here today"

When Charles becomes king it will be "king Charles and queen camilla went here today".

There is a going to be a bit of backlash against her from some quarters - she is not going to be the most popular queen the country has ever seen.

It's a lovely name but I personally would avoid it. Camille or cam or Tilly or just Millie would avoid the connection.
