I love it's simplicity and I think it goes nicely with ds Eli!

What do you think?

I thought we had settled on Flora or Juno but dh has told me he is not sure about these (though we are not eliminating them yet....silently gives dh the evils Hmm )

I know a Willa - I think it's lovely. :)

Met a Flora this week - did make me Hmm

Sorry, but it doesn't do it for me.

I think Juno is lovely though.

(Flora is a lovely name but is too much the 'spreads easily' margarine).

A friend (not in UK) has a Willa and it's grown on me :-) Love Flora and Juno too though.

Remembers Squoosh's post on Willow thread about Willa sounding like a Scotsman saying willy!

I do think willy. But that's because I am a purile oaf.

Also Flora used to be slang for a 'loose' woman in the school playground according to my friend when we discussed this name. But this seems to be a popular name so maybe its not a well known insult.

Juno is fantabulous!

It's ok.

I love Flora though, from your choices.

I like Willa, it is a bit different but not woo! I know a little one with a sister called Tabitha.

I've never heard of it before, and can't say I am a fan to be honest.

I like Flora, Juno is ok but makes me think of the film.

Ooh yes it's on my list too

Not a fan of Willa, but I like Juno & Flora.

So it seems to be a marmite name. But then every name I like tends to be marmite as I like the slightly unusual but not wacky iykwim?

I don't love it. It is a strong name. Willa Cather is a cool person to share a name with.

I like Willa, and I prefer it to the similar Willow.

DitzyDonkey · 01/06/2014 22:29

viatrix I agree, I think Willa is more elegant and grown up compared to Willow!

I think Willa would be mistaken for willow, but it is ok. I prefer flora which is really nice.

I was thinking of middle name combinations and think the following are sweet...

Willa Florence
Willa Clementine
Willa Juniper

I agree, I really like Willa and Juno. Don't like Flora (although Florence is lovely).

I'm late to the party, but dear god Willa is awful. You're surely not serious?! I also loathe marmite if that helps, and refuse to kiss dh when he's eaten it, until he cleans his teeth.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Time of course I'm serious....what an odd passive aggressive remark!

Despite the mixed bag of comments I still really like the name, so it is going firmly on the list!

I LOVE it. Was top of our girls list with DC1, but she turned out to be a he!

Now pregnant again, but have since become good friends with a couple who have a Willa. Dammit!

Go for it. I wish I could!

I like Willa, although that's mostly because of Willa Cather.

I bloody LOVE Willa! I suggest it on every single name thread I join in on and no one else seems to like it Sad

I definitely think you should use it

I wasn't being PA, I was aiming for tongue-in-cheek with a soupcon of self deprecating humour wrt the marmite issue. Clearly I missed the mark...

I think it's really awful.

Sorry.
