Hi All

We are looking for some thoughts on these names or suggestions of others we might like as we don't have one we both love

Boys would be with middle names of William or George after grandparents

Joseph
Isaac
Lucas
Jack
Oliver
Reuben
Hugo
Ethan
Finley (although this is in our family through marriage so not sure if we can use it)

Girls we are struggling to find a middle name for...family names are Annabelle, Ella, Laura, Anne, Margaret. We are struggling to get these to work well with the names we like

Georgia
Amelia/Emilia
Olivia
Imogen
Emma
Sophia
Charlotte
Louisa

Thanks

My favourite of the boys would be Joseph, Jack or Hugo. I adore the name Hugo but DH was having none of it! I also love Huey. William would probably go better with those though I am partial to George as I have one of my own.

I like most of the girls names though alot of them are extremely popular names at the moment. Don't let that stop you but there will almost certainly be another Olivia or Amelia in her class. My favourite would be Imogen, I love it. Imogen Laura or Imogen Ella would be nice?

We have quite similar taste in names!

Good luck with your baby.

DD would have been Saul if she'd been a ds, have always loved this name, love Lucas also.
For a girls middle name, maybe use a nn of a family name, maybe Belle...?

Thanks. I know our girls choices are quite popular at the moment, there are a few Amelia's and Olivia's in our sons school but don't know any of the others. It's hard as we both like classic, lovely sounding names and nothing too out there but I don't particularly want popular, around here Isabelle, Ella, Emily are extremely popular for girls.

We both do really like Imogen although Imogen Thomas puts me off slightly, it's probably my favourite on the list if I ignore that part.

Oh that's a good idea we could use Anna or Belle for Annabelle as that is a nightmare to go with anything

I think, and don't shoot me, they are all 'ok'
They are all names I've seen a million times before in the last two years. BUT they are all NICE names and I don't like 'out there' names at all, so y'know, there's nothing wrong with them as such. Hmm, I'm not making any sense.
I think all of the girls names are extremely popular and they are too 'princess girly' for my taste. Sorry! Charlotte is passable.

Out of your boys names, which are traditional names and 'my taste' I like Joseph the best.

Haha don't worry none of the girls ones jump out at us as something special either which is why we are struggling. Our surname begins with M and sounds like hurry so names I originally loved like Martha & Matilda don't sound too good with it. I like Neve, Erin, & Isla but OH isn't keen on these either. We have a Freya, Iona, Ava, Katie, Sylvia in our family so can't use them

Joseph is lovely.

The girls names there are a bit 'blah' for my taste though.

You have similar taste to me, we have an Alice Margaret! Others we liked were Rose, Zara, Laura, Romily, Margot.
Boys were James, Angus, Fergus, Fraser, Robert. Bit of a scottish vibe in the boys choices!!
Happy choosing!

I really like all of your boy names except Hugo, Oliver and Ethan. I don't dislike those three though. My favourite is probably Isaac.

From your first list of girls' names I love Imogen, Sophia and Charlotte and quite like the others though not keen on Amelia.

From your second list I love Eva, Matilda and Zara, really like Pippa, Darcey and Erin and quite like all the others except for Stella and Lucille which I don't like.

Oliver and Charlotte. All the other names are ok IMO.

If you're Scottish what about Eilidh or Eilish? Or Aimili...Gaelic version of Amelie?

Love Elsa and Rose and Erin.
Really dislike Stella and Darcy. I find your first list a bit boring, but Charlotte would be my favourite of those.

How about:
Esme
Helena
Thea
Violet

Thanks everyone! I can't use Iona as we have a baby in the family with that name and also don't want to use Eilidh as it's my nephews fiancé's name. I really like Helena and Esme from Benchmarks list.

My name choices are probably quite boring but that seems to be the only ones me and my husband agree on, also we have our son called Ben so something really out there wouldn't really work with that
