Please help me decide between these three names. They are beginning to blur in my mind! Elina is prn e Lee nah, rhymes with Selena, and eleni is e lay knee, rhymes with Delaney. Please no other name suggestions because it will only confuse my befuddled mind further. Brill!

Elina at a push

But I don't think anyone will assume it rhymes with Selena

More like El-in-ah

I though it would be pronounced El-in-ah. They are unusual names, I've not heard them before, where are they from? I assume Elin is pronounced like Ellen?

That's the problemo. I chose Elin to be prn Eh Lyn but everyone thinks Ellen. To be honest I am not bothered about mispronunciations from being read out loud, eg from the register. I dont want people to mishear tho. would like opinions on which sounds better? If u had to choose a name for yourself which of the three would it be?

I've got a Swedish friend called Elin and her name is pronounced Ee-lin.

We have a Welsh Elin, most pronounce it as you want it but she does get some Erins, Ellens and all sorts of other varieties too!
She's pretty happy with her name though and 15 years later we wouldn't change it, bizarrely she had an Eleni in her class at junior school too :)

And depending where you are in Wales Elin can be pronounced A-Lin.

Elin seems most fashionable in Switzerland and Germany. Dont know if that will sway your decision.

I also have an Elin but pronounced ee-lin, very unique in a classic way and we get comments on how unusual but pretty it is. Most people are easy to correct for pronunciation if they say ellen, not sure if she will nickname it when she gets older as it's a short name anyway.

I would choose Eleni first, followed by Elin.

Elin for me
It would have been ds3s girls name
Welsh version for us though

Elin very very rarely called Ellie, just by one friend of my Mum's, we had always planned to use Nell as nickname...but never bothered in the end!

Eleni is my favourite, I know one, she's never known as Ellie but sometimes gets Leni.
