How many Sebastians do you know?

Sebastian is one of my favourite boys names but I'm a bit concerned that it's become quite trendy/popular recently and will be one of those names with two/three plus at school.

How many baby/toddler Sebastians do you know?

I know three: 3, 8 and 44. The 8 year old is the only one in the school and this area that I know of.

Lovely name.

I know two. They are both four.

My son

Plus 1 other a year ahead, and the family Paediatrician's son.

Though mine is the only one to insist on being called Bas, the others are Seb.

I think it's perfect (and I have 3 others to compare with common and rare names)- well enough that people know it but unlikely to be replicated in his class.

Two. I think there will be more as well in my wider group of friends (middle class, mostly south London / Surrey). I do think it's hugely on the up.

OTM even my teens have failed to come up with that one for their brother! (DS4 is 6 by the way)

Aside from a baby in an online baby group I joined, and this baby is in another country, my cat is the only other Sebastian I know. I love the name.

None . But I live in the west of Scotland and that seams to be like a different world to the rest of MN Grin

OTM that's such a shame, poor guy! I nickname my cat Se-bastard because he rips my carpet to shreds.

I know 1 and that's 1 too many imo. Always seems like a weak and feeble name to me. Sorry.

Popularity matters much less with very classic names. A work colleague of hubby's has a little Sebastian and there are two at my son's nursery. We're considering it if dc4 is a boy.

Locally, one aged 8 and one about 10 months. Also a friend of a friend has one age 3. I would say it is increasing but maybe not likely to be massively popular.
