What do you think of the boy name Aramis?

Title says it all really . I love Dumas' work (including, of course The Three Musketeers and sequels) and think Aramis is a strong, "cool" name. But is it too much to use in real life? What do you think of when you hear Aramis? What would you think of a little boy/teen/man who introduced himself as Aramis?

Also, what middle names do you think would work well with Aramis? I feel that if you're going to go for an unusual first name, you should choose a more classic "easy to wear" middle just in case. Also, what nicknames? And sibling names would you imagine would go with Aramis?

By the way, I'm not pregnant or thinking of having children. Just got a love of unusual names! Thanks in advance guys

Aftershave. Worn by a character in a Jilly Cooper novel.

It's also the name of a dodgy 1970s style men's aftershave

It makes me think of the Musketeers or the aftershave.

So yes, I think it's too much to use in real life.

I think of the Muskahounds (not as cultured as you obviously!) or the aftershave, sorry!

I went to school with an Aramis many years ago. However I think more people know it as an aftershave now. And because if that I would be weary.

Also I think the surname must suit a name like Aramis, should you choose to use it

I know a Lithuanian person called Aurimus, which sounds like Aramis. I have never connected his name to the aftershave. But it seems so obvious, now everyone has mentioned it.

Well, I think musketeer. So it's a hell of a name for a little boy to live up to.
