Wondering what names would go well with Percy, for a boy. I don't like names that are common and I don't like way out there names. I'm more a old man kind of baby namer... Thanks in advance for suggestions Wink

bowlersarm Stanley & Ronnie are very common near me, have a Sidney among friends children and isn't Algie something you get on a pond? Never heard of that as a name... But THANKYOU besides Algie they're the style of names Id go for :)

I know a Percy who has George and Henry for brothers.

I also think these go well:

Arthur
Wilbur
Quentin
Harold

Well, would you like to be called Percy (or Sidney or Stanley)? Really? Could you at least use a different style of name for their middle name, so they can swop if they want to?

Wow Dinosaurs.

That's quite rude.

OP, my DCs can count a Percy, Sidney and Sydney amongst their cousins. Sadly only 1 has a sibling (a sister) so not much help!

How about Eric?
Alec?
Frank?
I want to say Brian because that's in DS' name but don't want to be laughed at...

dinosaur I would love to have been named an old fashioned name... Instead I have a name I shared with 4 other girls in my class alone! They're were 9 of us in the same year... My son Percy is 2, it's amazing how often I am stopped on the street when people over hear me talking to him, the majority of people love his name and he is very popular among his play mates, I think he is the type of child who can pull off his name well despite some thinking it has negative associations... However if by any chance he dislikes it when he is older (which I don't think he will) his middle name is Jack so he could change if he'd rather :)

I happen to think the majority of names in the top 100 are awful, everyone has preferences, I don't like to sheep though I'd rather my child was an individual

Oh I'm with Dinosaur all the way what girl ever fancied a Sidney or Percy. They went out of fashion for a reason.
