Due with our little boy in 3 weeks and still don't have a name picked out sad can you give me any ideas? Something unique? Possibly something Celtic as my hubby is irish grin

I did really like Finlay but pronounced finley, but it's used a lot now, I don't want my son to be the 4th Finley in his class if that makes sense.. And I liked Khylan but it will probably be miss-spelt and wrongly pronounced. other names I quite like are Oscar, Leyton, Harley, but nothing I have my heart set on really. I do like names sending in EY if anyone has any suggestions? Please no nasty comments.

BuntyPenfold Thu 23-Jan-14 09:41:15

Yes, loads of Finn and Finley here too.
Faraday?
Marley?

mummyjanine Thu 23-Jan-14 09:44:47

I like Marley but dh isn't too keen. What's your thoughts on Kyran? To strange? x

BuntyPenfold Thu 23-Jan-14 09:46:43

I don't think Kyran is strange at all, is it Greek?

I suppose people might think it was Kieran though.

mummyjanine Thu 23-Jan-14 09:55:47

Yeah that's what I thought, I'm just gutted because I love the name Finley and was so set on it but I didn't realise how popular it had become until recently. I like Khylan because it is different, but many people will probably not be able to pronounce or spell it, maybe the spelling Kylan would be better for it. Most people on this site seem to really hate the name Kylan, so I just don't know now sad x

mummyjanine Thu 23-Jan-14 09:57:19

And it's Gaelic/irish as is kylan and finley wink

PS people on this site might not be fans of a name you like but it honestly doesn't mean you should forget about it smile.

Thank you! All such helpful ideas. x

hubbahubster Thu 23-Jan-14 12:15:51

If you like Finlay then how about Finton or Finnbar? Or Flynn?

amyshellfish Thu 23-Jan-14 12:21:54

Didn't you get enough ideas from your other 5 or so threads?

mummyjanine Thu 23-Jan-14 12:48:45

Well no sorry because in my other threads I wasn't asking for name suggestions I was asking for a vote between 3 names I liked, so to answer your question, no.

mummyjanine Thu 23-Jan-14 12:49:46

And a bit ott there because it wasn't as many as 5 threads.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles Thu 23-Jan-14 12:54:01

Three weeks to go and no name, have as many threads as you like, <generous>. There might be posters who didn't see the first ones.

You mention a few ideas. Have you tried writing them down, imagine signing a birthday card to a relative, putting your name, DH's, DD's and then the names you've mentioned. Visualise a birthday cake or school name tag, try thinking of initials.
