What are your opinions on this name? Do you think Annie would work for short?

Annie is beautiful (and on my list for this DC) but I really dislike Antonia. I just don't think it sounds very nice.

Plus I have an irrational dislike of feminised male names.

Annie on it's own gets my vote.

Love it, beautiful under used name. Can't say I'm over keen on nn Annie though. Why not just use the full name?

Like the name, but I don't think Annie would work for short at all.

What about Toni?

The girls I know with this name has nn which have nothing to do with real name. Like Coco or Sissy etc.

Lovely name and I really like Annie. Not keen on Toni just because it feels more 80's and therefore a little dated.

Antonia is nice. Don't think you need to shorten it at all. Annie seems more of a nickname for someone called Anne.

I have a friend called Antonia and she gets called Toni.

With mine and Bunny's completely opposing views, we're not much help to you.

Love it,
Use Annie while you get to choose, give your DD scope for something different as she gets older

I really dislike Toni. Of course I would call them Antonia but I know I'd end up shortening it like I did with my sons name. I think Antonia is beautiful but dislike Tonia, Tonia Nia and so on. I thought Annie sounded OK with it and sweet for a baby.

I am team yellow! Just love this name :)

Love Antonia. Love Annie too.

I have a good friend called Antonia so I only have good feelings about the name. She's very clever and loyal.

I love the name - so pretty and elegant. You could definitely shorten it to Annie - another fab name.

wonderful name and I knew a wonderful person named
Antonia.
she was my after school teacher when I was ten.
she was just amazing, treated us as friends and installed in me a love for sewing and crafts - she taught me how to cross-stitch etc.

she was perfectly lovely and the only reason I didn't choose Antonia for DD as it is pronounced differently in English (from Hungarian) which I don't like, plus I'd hate her to be nickamed Toni by othersSad

but Annie is a great nickname, so go for it!Smile

I know one, never called anything for short.

It's a lovely elegant name.

Antonia is lovely but I REALLY dislike Toni, it's one of those names that provokes irrational anger! I don't know if you could wholly avoid her peers using it.

Antonia is lovely but the Antonias I know are all known as Toni which I don't like!
