Sister for Grace and Rupert

Hello

Have name changed for this.

My and DH can't think of a girls name we like, it feels impossible. The closest we have got is Phoebe but we aren't sure it's the one and DH hates the character in Friends which isn't helping.

We were absolutely certain on a Grace and no other name was discussed.

Boys names we liked were Oliver and Finn but we went with Rupert.

We prefer short names and like quite classical names. Our surname is one syllable and starts with the letter T.

I'm not keen on Olivia, Sophia, Emily, Daisy, Isla which have all been suggested (nothing wrong with them, just not for me). We just can't think of any name we like. I don't dislike Skye but DH says too hippy. He likes Holly but I'm really not keen, too seasonal and a friends DD is called Holly.

Please help!

My name is Megan (this is why I had to name change, I'm so outed).

My sister is Lucy and I have a niece called Laura.

Of the others:
Eloise - too many syllables but I do like Ellie
Adeline - is this Add-eh-lean? It's a bit unusual for me
Iona - not keen (too many syllables again)
Briony - not keen
Elizabeth - too long
Shona - not keen
Tara - name of close friend

Eloise can be pronounced Ell-wahs. Which is two syllables.

How about Ellen, if you like Ellie?

BunnyLebowski · 28/11/2013 21:11

Elodie popped straight into my head.

Anya

Mary - MIL name!
Ruth / Imogen not keen
Cate / Kate - SIL name!
Isabelle - like but don't like Bella, too long really
Catherine - SIL actual name (plus too long)
Molly - DH says not too bad. Reminds me if a horse I used to ride
Matilda - love ... It's the cats name though!
Alice - it's okay but not in love with it. Along the right lines!

Not crazy on Ellen, always sounds like somebody has dropped the H off Helen. Not heard Eloise pronounced like that, I think she would be forever correcting people.

Elodie we both like a lot. It has "die" in it though even though it's not pronounced like that. Puts me off.

Adele, Beth, Anya we don't like.

Ceyln I have problems pronouncing. Celine? Not being able to pronounce it puts me off.

We'll never find a name. We're too fussy. Sad

Like Rose but it's a friends daughters name. Maybe need to cut contact, she isn't a good friend!

None of the others are grabbing us. DH keeps going "uuuuhm not sure".

None of them are names we dislike, just a bit indifferent to them all.
