Shortlist is as follows:

Claudia
Stella
Sadie

but i'm feeling like 'the name' isn't on there yet iykwim. Any suggestions?

I'm 30wks pg with DD2...names starting with 'm' ruled out as that's DD1 is Melody. So something that 'goes' with Melody would be nice too.

Fire away!

I love those names particularly Claudia and Sadie.

Tessa?

Allegra

Hmm. They're very different names, in my view, and also different in 'feel' from Melody.

Melody and... Sorrel? Tamsin? Kerenza? Seren?

PS - but I like Claudia and Stella, too.

Melody and Sadie go well, Melody and Claudia, yes maybe but not Melody and Stella.

I love Claudia! It's just the frequency with which it keeps coming up on these boards is worrying me somewhat. I really want to have a 'less common' name....I know names being top whatever doesn't bother some people but it does bother me!

I don't think they go with your dd name I like the suggestion of Tessa that works far better

Is Tessa short for something?

Out of those I like Claudia the best.
Sadie is Ok.
Stella reminds me of the lager!

Love Cecilia, especially nn'ed to Cece. Lovely.

Harmony of course Wink

DawnOfTheDee · 18/11/2013 14:37

Thank you DinkyMole - you make it exactly eleventymillion people who have suggested Harmony to me. Argh! Wink

I like Cece as a nn too floaty....like loads more than Cecilia actually but i'm not keen on nn's on the birth certificate.

Same here. I would have to give her Cecilia/Celia as a full name, just so I could call her Cece. That way at least she would have a more 'grown up' option ifyswim.

Lorna? Grace?
Summer?

Calypso (though perhaps too music-related)

Allegra would be beautiful

I love Tessa as well. I even accidentally called my DD Tessa one day by accident. Not sure why it popped out. I think she would have suited the name!

I think Tessa is often short for Theresa.

Estelle?
Tasha? (Natasha)

I've yet to meet a little Claudia myself.

I think I really like Sadie, it's on my list. I struggle to picture baby Sadie and think some people might at first think it's awful but I think it's a great name for a toddler up and have images of a cute little Sadie in wellies running round in the garden!

Here is a name I will never be able to use but wish I had heard it years ago when naming DD. I would so love to have known about it then....

Valda

I think you've hit the nail on the head Caip - toddler Sadie I can see, teenager Sadie I can see and grown up Sadie I can see....it's just the baby bit. But I do think it's a cool name.

Not sure how I feel about Valda but props for coming up with a name I've never heard of before and I've looked in ALL the books

Love them all, Claudia and Sadie were on our shortlist but we decided on Scarlett for our dd.

Clover? Gypsy?

I don't think any of them go phonetically with Melody. Too many l's and d's.
