Honor or Domenica

Hi, any opinions on these names gratefully received.

Do you think they sound overly religious? I have had a few comments that they sound like nuns names.

Funny you should say that OP, I went to a Domincan school so Domenica immediately made me think 'NUNS'.

Honor is gorgeous though and not at all nun-like to me and I've met a lot of nuns

I have to confess (oops Freudian) that the combination of these two did immediately make me think you were particularly trying for 'Christian' first names. But a) nowt wrong with that, and b) separately they won't have that effect so strongly IMO. Ok, Domenica does a bit.
I think Honor is the prettier name of the two but that is a different question.

Domenica is okay, but Honor is nicer although too stark for my taste.

I'd say it Do-men-ikah. It is feminine of Dominic. I think a real name! I have known of girl's called this before. Catholic girls actually!

I am wavering towards Honor. But Domenica more unusual and feminine.

I think Dominic Lawson's daughter is called Domenica. Must be a family tradition for them, naming daughters after their fathers.

Are you thinking of Domenica (Do-MEN-icca) or Dominica (Dom-in-EEKa)? They have quite different "feels" IMO, although I like both.
Don't like Honor, but that's because I don't like the only Honor I know.
Like Honoria though....

Honor is quite severe some how but a name i've liked for years where Domenica is a name i've only just considered.

I thought the spelling would be Dominica (like Dominique except with a different ending)?
Thoughts stray to nuns here too.

Neither here nor there anyway, as I prefer Honor by a long shot. I think it is sweet and simple as a child's name, and yet it grows and has a dignified quality to it on someone older.
