Ok, still a couple of months to go but scan says girl so we're focusing on names.
We want a name which we can shorten to an everyday nn. This fits in with our other kids names.

DH likes the nicknames, Josie, clemmie and Flo. So he's keen on, Josephine or Jocelyn, Clementine and Florence or Florentine.

I like Ruth/Ruthie, Margaret/Maggie and Constance/Connie

Dh's fav is one of the Josie names though he can't decide which. Mine is Constance.

Honest opinions without being too nasty please. Smile

Thanks ladies! Good to know you both like my favourite. What do you all think of dh's choices?

I like your DHs choices. Josephine or Clementine or Florentine/a. I'm liking grand names at the mo.

Maggie is nice but Margaret? Well, its just the thatcher connection. I just couldn't. What about Margot?

I like Josie but not keen on the full names.

I like them all, I don't think Margaret Thatcher when I hear Margaret - but wouldn't mind if I did.

I like Josie and Maggie.

I quite like Connie, but don't like Constnace, but with Maggie and Josie I like the full names too.

Thanks. Florence is getting quite popular here so that worries me. If we called her Clementine would she be sung to forever more? Josephine and Jocelyn are both nice and DH does love Josie. I do know a little jocelyn though it's spelt slightly differently but she is known as Joss which I'd worry would get confused with Josh and people would think she had a boys name.
I'm rambling, sorry.

Without a second thought, Josephine nn Josie. Cute, with growing potential. Lovely name and too of my mental list for never going to happen dd3.

Seems everyone likes different ones. I just don't know. Maybe we need to make a smaller shortlist.

I like Maggie. Not keen on any of the other options. At a push Clem is okay, Clemmie is clammy.

I like both the Josie names though I think Jocelyn would end up as Joss. I know a Josephine who goes by Epphie/Effie which I also like as a NN.
Not keen on Flo or Clemmie.
Constance/Connie is lovely.
Not sure about Margaret.

Ruth is a fantastic strong name. And not too popular that you hear it all the time.
I really don't think she will thank you for Constance.
Maggie and Josie are lovely though.

Thanks everyone, sorry not to come back last night but I fell asleep.
I like the sound of Constance Josephine but now WIMOV had made me worry that she'll hate it. I don't want to give her a name that's liked on MN but that in real life everyone will laugh at.
DH has said he doesn't think Constance is right as a middle name but he does like Josephine Margaret and Jocelyn Margaret. He also said that he doesn't like Ruth at all so doesn't want to consider that. So we've discounted Ruth from my list and Florence/Florentine from his. Maybe we're getting somewhere!

Just bumping for more ideas. Maybe first name-middle name combos.

All beautiful names. Constance and Florence were on the list for dd1. We chose Margot in the end.
Clementine was a late addition as I ate about a kilo of the things a day. Didn't choose it incase it was a hormone based decision but it is firmly top of the list for a potential dd2.
What about Constance Clemintine with CeCe as a nn?
There is also Nancy from Constance.
