Why would anyone be so cruel as to give a child a Halloween name?

creepypenisreaper Mon 28-Oct-13 22:15:11

Igor
Nosferatu
Chucky

Just joking, but I do like Elvira (as in Mistress of the Dark) as suggested by IBelieveInAngels. If I was going to have a girl it was on my shortlist grin

creepypenisreaper Mon 28-Oct-13 22:17:19

SoupDragon so people who call their child Frankie or Jack are cruel? What's wrong with using a holiday as inspiration. People use Holly and Ivy at Christmas, and names like April May and June in their respective months

PipkinsPal Mon 28-Oct-13 22:18:02

Morticia, Elvira, Lily, Herman (Munster).

BloodiedGhouloshes Mon 28-Oct-13 22:21:18

You could go for Pagan names? I am not sure what those would be, but something lovely like Willow or Rowan or Leveret?

SoupDragon Mon 28-Oct-13 22:22:09

Because a child born on Halloween called Frankie is going to get the piss ripped out of them. It's hardly the same as Holly or Ivy is it? It is also nothing like calling a child born in March "Frankie"

You are name a child, not a pet.
It is the child who has to live with it, not you.

SoupDragon I really don't understand the difference between a Christmas and Halloween inspired name.

MortifiedAnyFuckerAdams Mon 28-Oct-13 22:34:35

shock I have a Meg and have never even thought of it being a Halloween name. Shes a Christmas baby, anyways, so that helps but even if she were born 31st Oct id never have made thw connection.

Halloween baby names reference the holiday and all things spooky.
Casper
Buffy
Autumn
Blair
They names are sweet, most popular and impaired by Halloween.
