This is a front runner for dc2. On here it seems popular but I only know of one!

I know 3, all toddlers, plus an Islay in her thirties

One, in her 40s. Scotland

1 aged 15.

Only one, possibly because in the local accent it sounds like 'Oiler'.

One in yr2. Norfolk.

4 under 5, I really liked it till I realised it was everywhere.

3 out of 4 of my friends have called their daughter this in the last 3 months. It is beautiful but exceptionally popular. Seems Isla and Darcy are very 'on trend.'

My dd is 6 and there are 2 in her class at school

Zero.

EricLovesAnyFucker Sun 27-Oct-13 09:19:44

Loads. Well three. All 5 and under. It's quite overused popular.

feelingvunerable Sun 27-Oct-13 09:58:29

None.

TheBookofRuth Sun 27-Oct-13 10:07:26

I don't know any. I know umpty-gillion Isabelle/Isabellas though.

NorbertDentressangle Sun 27-Oct-13 10:12:39

None (although I don't know very many under 5s as my two are older)

I do know an Iona though - could be an alternative if Isla is too popular where you are?

babyboomersrock Sun 27-Oct-13 10:13:02

I know three under 3 - also Scotland.

Stravy Sun 27-Oct-13 10:14:03

3 in dd's Y3 class

Nel1975 Sun 27-Oct-13 10:16:06

One adults, but spelt Aila.

Isawitchcackling Sun 27-Oct-13 10:21:57

I know one, it's a beautiful name but the child is TOXIC! Don't let that put you off though grin

Grotbagstwin Sun 27-Oct-13 10:23:05

5, the oldest is 30 then the rest are under 6.

nowthenmardyfucker Sun 27-Oct-13 10:27:05

One.

If you like it, go with it OP. I worried over popularity when naming DD. It turns out she has a v popular name (without us realising) but is the only one we know of.

You could choose a very unused name and some celeb could use it/ reality tv star with that name may hit the news and all of a sudden it is number one!

happy2help Sun 27-Oct-13 10:28:58

I know 2, both under 3 yrs old.

Two, both under 5.

At least 4. I think it's a nice name but more commonly used than any other name I know of at the moment.

I keep imagining that it will be like Sarah or Emma were when I was growing up. No judgement though - I'm considering a top 10 name for DS2 and, while ideally the name would be less popular, if its a choice between a name I love and a name I like less but is less commonly used, I'd rather choose a name I love.

TombOfMummyBeerest Sun 27-Oct-13 11:04:14

Just one, years ago, she's probably 6 now. It's a gorgeous name regardless.

InsultingBadger Sun 27-Oct-13 13:26:47

2, both under 4
