Time's up! My due date is just days away and I still can't settle on a name. I think it's going to be one of these. Could I trouble you for a straw poll? I can't call her BabyX forever...

Cordelia! Use it please as I already have a DD with an 'ia' name and cannot have another beautiful, strong, classic and a bit quirky, I love it!

Eliza, I think. Is there one name you prefer more than the others?

I love them all except for Clara. I would think that Cordelia would be the most unusual, go for that!

Cordelia here too - the best woman in Shakespeare! Smile

Clara - reminds me of Heidi's best friend from the 80s TV version of Heidi. (Always wanted to have a bedroom with a skylight!)

Cordelia - beautiful Shakespearian name. May sound a bit pompous in the wrong environment thought. Have friend who calls her dd Delia as a result. Love the name Della also.

Eliza - classy but classless name. Smacks of Audrey Hepburn's gracefulness as Doolittle.

Tabitha - the most 'cute' out of all the names, like it shorted to Tabby.

Out of all the names I would have chosen Clara or Eliza.

Cordelia. It's lovely.

Clara and Eliza are less stunning, but nice.

Please not Tabitha!

What lovely names! Eliza and Tabitha were strong contenders for us (we ended up going with Olive). My sister said to me to imagine which sounded best calling loudly in public, saying sternly, shortened and just felt right when saying the name!
You have 6 weeks to register her, she what she looks like!

Tabitha

Clara - I really love this. Unusual. Can't be shortened
Cordelia - no. Don't like the 'delia' sound at the end. would think of mrs smith every time i heard the name!
Tabitha - nope. gets shortened to Tabby which is awful.
Eliza - Quite like this.

Eliza is very classic, I love it. Not as "out of the top 100" as the others though.

Clara, Cordelia, Tabitha or Eliza

okay, would rate them thus:

  1. Cordelia (but not delia as nn)
  2. Clara
  3. Eliza
  4. Tabitha - sounds feline tbh

That said

  1. prefer Cecilia Ophelia or Lydia
  2. prefer Clare
  3. prefer Elise (Eleez) or Alisa (A-lee-za)

good luck with the birth x
