Oh dear. Sounds like a measurement of energy in a nuclear power plant.

'Once it reaches 10 dulcimers we're doomed!'

squoosh Grin

Is it even a real name? Would you say it Dul - sea - mur?

Male or female?

Poor kid.

I only know it as a musical instrument

I suppose it's quite a pretty sound though, poor thing could have been called Clarinet if they'd liked the nickname Nettie Grin

According to wiki the it's a family of string instruments some plucked and some played with small hammers and the name means Sweet Song which is pretty, I guess.

It's their siblings Harpsichord (NN Harp) and Sitar I feel sorry for.

The mother will be a bloody MNer who has read countless threads on NOT using a nickname, abouthaving to have a longer version.

She clearly wanted Dulce. Grin

A damsel with a dulcimer, in a vision once I saw...

I think her sister would have to be Zither.

And they have a wicked Greek uncle who takes them on unsuitable treats called Bouzi.....

Ach, Remus you got there before me!

It was an Abyssinian maid and on her dulcimer she played, singing of Mount Abora.

I like it, actually.

Could I revive within me...

Love it and love the man from Porlock story too.

I'm pregnant, OP.

Were you worried that I'd think "Oooh, must add Dulcimer to the shortlist for DC2"? Wink

Still not as bad as Peppa... :) not pippa or any other derivative, just Peppa.

I can't say as I like dulcimer or dulce but everyone has a different view on baby names.

Dulcimer for a girl, Porlock for a boy. Or Kubla, of course.
