2012 Top 100 Baby Names

My daughter is within top 100, but not top 10.
Neither DF or I seem to be on this list, but my spelling is a tad different from the original, so will look again.

My sisters name is in here.

My son is in the top 8! I am a bit surprised actually as we genuinely didn't have any idea how popular the name was - or was going to be. Oh well!

My dd has an extremely unusual name and is never in the lists.

Both DSs, bump and I are in the top 100. I don't think DH is.

As I said on another thread, even the most popular names are actually used for so small a proportion of babies (

No, DD is somewhere between 250-300. Her name is not particularly well used but not unusual.

DH and I are well outside the top 100. However we were both top 20 back in the 80's!

I'm no. four hundred and something (!) Brand new ds is in the 70s, dd one hundred and seventy something. Dh has a name that loads of people our generation have, but is no. two hundred and something.

All of us. DD, the youngest at 22 months is least popular, 60 something . DS, nearly 5 is in the teens, 1 place down from the year he was born. DH and I are both in the thirties, both of us have fairly classic names which have never been particularly trendy or otherwise.

DH and DD are in too 100, DS and I are way down in the 1000 pluses.

I'm quite surprised by that list as I spend a lot of time with babies and have never met some of those. None of us -dh, me, dds are top 100, though a diminuative of dd1 is in tge 60s. None of us have remotely unusual names though.

DS is top 10, I'm top 50 and DH isn't on there!

Dd is in the top 5, ds is in the top 40. Neither dh or I are in the top 100.

DD is in the top 50, but DS, DH nor I feature at all - none of us have unusual names though!

DP 16
Me 955 (surprised there are still nearly 40 a year with this name!)

DH and DS1 are in the top 100. DS2, DD and I aren't.

We all have Welsh names though and I imagine that DS2 and DD would be in the top 100 in Wales.

QOD · 12/08/2013 19:58

I'm not on it, dd is in the 40's ànd dh not at all. Dh has the most common name in the world for men his age, mine is rare and dd is sort of middling

DD is in the top 10 - we knew it was a popular name but loved it
Both DSs between 40 and 50
Neither DH nor I are in the top 100.

Both DS's in the top 100 but not the top 10. Neither DH or I feature but sure we would have been top 100 in the years we were born.

DH, DD & DS have both first & middle names in top 100, although DH's middle name is the winner, & in the top 10. Neither of my names are there though, although I would imagine my first name would be in the top 200.

Strangely enough, both DD & DS's first names are roughly as popular as each other (60s) without it being deliberate/contrived to be that way iyswim.

Report
MrsOakenshield · 12/08/2013 20:03

DD is top 20. Neither DH or I are on there, doubt you'd get anyone under 35 with my name, maybe 30 for DH. My name very fashionable in the 60s, DH's not top 10 but not unusual.
