Not coming up with names with agree on, and Persephone is a hard name to top!

So far we've got Serafina (altho not liking the nn of Sera/Sarah) and Anastasia.

Any other suggestions welcome

I really want an Ophelia. I hope it isn't number one in the charts by the time I end up getting up duffed.

Wow what a load of bollocks on this thread!

I was going to say Angelina too.

Holler test: 'Seff! Ange!' Perfect.

ps if your husband went to Eton and isn't PM or MoL, he failed. wink

Excellent. Take the moral high ground by calling someone names hmm

They're commenting on themselves and their own insecurity.

Don't take it personally, OP, not easy I know. They're just commenting on the name, they don't know you or your daughter.

I didn't see this thread before I posted mine (asking for opinions on Persephone). But I'd put an Octavia as a sibling or an Isadora.

What are reactions to the name in real life, Smallorange? And do you constantly have to spell it for people?

I would stay away from all names that would be shortened to something with ss/ff sounds that would be too similar to your dd's nickname. May i suggest?

Valentina

Evangeline

Magdelena

Angelina

Nicknames: nina, Lina, vina, eva, Evie

We already have a Persephone (Sephie) and an Ophelia (Fifi). Our next bubba will be Isolde (Issy) or Aloysius if he's a boy.

And I live in a council flat.

Or Angelina?

You could shorten the (beautiful) Seraphina to Fee?

How about
Aneira (An eye raa)
Aura
Adriana

I seem to be liking names beginning with A!

pussycatwillum Wed 14-Aug-13 21:51:24

Persephone and Stephanie

BetsyBell Wed 14-Aug-13 21:29:59

Hmm, I guess I posted that without reading much of the thread then... As you were.

BetsyBell Wed 14-Aug-13 21:27:13

Serafina can be shortened to Sefa, which is lovely.

nurseneedshelp Wed 14-Aug-13 21:24:34

I didn't actually say it was a stupid name!
Just "unusual" !

SmallOrangeGiraffe Wed 14-Aug-13 18:49:35

Malerie's quite nice, granny-chic - will test out the suggestions and others on DH - I have a feeling its a no, lol!

Allthatglitters789 Wed 14-Aug-13 15:23:38

Clementine
Allegra

wow - really long thread with some 'interesting' diversions.

OP - I know of a little Anastasia with the NN Tasie, Sephie and Tasie would be fine to shout in the park (PP's holler test) and Persephone and Anastasia go together really well.

My other suggestion, which I think was mentioned ages ago but may have been missed in the confusion is Hermione (although you would then have 2 DD's with potentially mispronounced names, if that would bother you)

Labootin Wed 14-Aug-13 15:03:17

I know it's not been an official suggestion but an author mentioned on this thread but I'm really beginning to like Malorie (Blackman)

I'm a complete pleb though so it's probably a blokes name.

umbrellahead Wed 14-Aug-13 14:52:55

I think that because you've used the (gorgeous) nickname Sephie for your DD that Serafina is probably not useable this time. Instead, how about -

Saskia
Maya
Louisa
Thea
Katerina
Delilah/Lilah
Christina
Alyssa
Marina
Mireille
Alexa
Cassia
Serena
Thalia
Juliet
Naomi
