Eleanor Rose or Aurelia Clare?

Our baby is due quite soon now (four weeks...!), and we have two names that we like. Do you prefer Eleanor Rose or Aurelia Clare? Our surname begins with S and has 2 syllables. Or any other suggestions?

Why not Aurelia Rose? Gorgeous! Both names are lovely, but I love Aurelia.

I know, Aurelia Rose is gorgeous, though not if your surname starts with S!!

I like Claire better. My best friend at Primary school was Claire

Prefer Claire with an i.

Very pretty names! Though Eleanor Rose reminds me (a bit) of Eleanor Roosevelt (not necessarily a bad thing)

Aurelia Clare, with that spelling too. (But might be biased as its my name)

Eleanor Rose is pretty too but Aurelia Clare sounds great and more unique!

Eleanor Rose. Aurelia sounds daft unless you have the mediteranian surname to go with it.

Thanks so much for the feedback, useful food for thought!

Aurelia is a fabulous name, one step beyond Eleanor in coolness and beauty IMO. Either middle name would go.

Both are good; have you considered having a second DD? Grin

I think Aurelia would just pip Eleanor to the post for me today, but I might have the opposite opinion tomorrow...

Both are pretty. I'd mix it up and go for Eleanor Claire though! Claire is my mums name.
