I wasv newly pg (so new I didn' t realise) when dh' s GM died. When we found out we were having a girl, I suggested we call her after GM ie: Nice name with a bit of Old Lady Chic. DH said "But I only ever called her Grandma".
Sorry to start up this thread again but after a particularly frustrating conversation with dp last night I need somewhere to vent! His views are:
Emmeline – sounds like Windolene Thea – Not really a name. Just ‘The’ and ‘A’ put together by someone lazy Eliza – An annoying Victorian woman’s name Abigail – Sounds Australian! Eleanor – Sounds like Lenor the fabric conditioner Niamh – Sounds too foreign and no one will know how to pn it Joy – A Hippy name
His suggestions so far are Sophie or Sophia. That’s it!
We’ve not even started looking at boy’s names yet, so got that fun still to come.
