So, Junior Panda almost has a name... DH prefers one, I prefer another. It's DEADLOCK - we need your help!

  1. Aubin Laurence Stephen [2 syllable surname starting with A]
  2. Felix Laurence Stephen [same surname]
  3. They're both hideous
  4. Either is good

Stephen as you might guess is a non-negotiable family name. I won't say who prefers which but would love to hear your thoughts.

Laurence is nice though. And Laurie is lovely.

Out of Felix and Aubin, then Felix is definitely better but not my cup of tea

Definitely Felix.

Laurence is nice.

I dont like Felix but it is vastly preferable to the, frankly, ODD Aubin.

Sorry!

I just keep thinking of the poor Stephen Lawrence :-(

Gym bob - I'm sort of with you on the cat thing. I was the same until someone we know had a Felix. Now it's just his name and I never think of cats!
(Sorry - Don't like Aubin)

Gymbob not boy

Not 1. Aubin is odd.

Felix is a cat, absolutely not to my taste, but infinitely preferable to Aubin. Aubin really is bad.

Arghh - I give up (slinks off)

Felix is preferable to aubin but not really my cup of tea.

Felix. Also like Laurie do you have any other options if you are struggling with these two?

Report
Allalonenow · 25/07/2013 10:51

I really like Aubin. But its a bit of a mouthful with 2 long middle names. Actually, its those names I dont like! But I'm assuming they are family names.

3.

Aubin, he WILL get called Oddbin at some point by people that mishear his name.

I'm also another one that thinks of Stephen Lawrence. Sad

Felix = cat.

How do you pronounce Aubin?

Is it like Oban or Auburn?

I like the latter.

Report
squoosh · 25/07/2013 11:01

3 from me too sorry.

Aubin is a bit lumpy and odd sounding.

Felix is wet and babyish.

But yes, Laurence is nice, so not all bad!

I'm not massively keen on Felix but I don't hate it.

Aubin is making me go Confused Does it sound like Robin with a missing r? Now I'm repeating it in different ways with different stresses in my head and it's even odder, lol.
