Imogen - That Z-lister selling her and her baby's life away in the DM.

Tamsin - Lovely... but reminds me of Timon from the Lion King. Confused

(Going on the two I know) - Imogen and Tamsin have arty, academic parents. They're both good at crafts, and both quite girly in a non-pink-princess way. They do well at school and university, not outstandingly brilliant at anything, but good all-rounders, and they're popular, without being the life and soul of the party.

Both were dismissed by my DH as sounding like Page 3 girls.

Imogen - definitely middle class or above, probably arty and pretty.Makes me think of the actress Imogen Stubbs, or the character from Shakespeare.

Tamsin -also middle class. Don't get such a clear picture of her, but also a nice name, though prefer Imogen.

Imogen - po faced, dull, school prefect

Tamsin - barefoot, hippyish country girl

Both names - would think they came from 'good' family background and
would be the sort who would muck in (or out!).

Imogen - busty & ditzy.
Tamsin - posh hippy.

Imogen love it but vvvv common & not as 'posh' as people like to think. I know lots of Imogen's & don't live in a very MC area.

Tamsin - does seem more MC, never met a young tamsin, is it now quite dated, maybe could've brought back.

I've never thought of Imogen as a 'posh' name at all. I don't know anyone with this name nor heard of anyone irl with this name except unfortunately Imogen Thomas. I have always thought it wasn't popular but that may be due to having a harsh sound with the 'uh' in the middle.

It's great to hear other people's opinions as it gives a different and sometimes eye opening perspective .

Imogen is a posh name - but she's well brought up, polite, outgoing...
Tamsin is trouble!

Classic/standard names for middle and upper middle class girls who are well spoken and probably privately educated.

Why is Tamsin trouble? Again I don't know anyone with this name so I don't have any name association? Thanks
