We are 2 weeks away from our due date and have a boys name in place, still undecided about girls, but these two seem to be our fav and wondered peoples thoughts on Alice or Florence?

Alice.

Florence as a full name is okay, but I don't like the potential nicknames, which puts me off it.

I love both but prefer Florence.

Alice. Don't like the nicknames for Florence. Also Florence seems more popular, although I don't know if the statistics bear that out.

Alice. Underused and beautiful. Florence is very 'now'.

I like both :)

I think of Alice in Wonderland and Florence and The Machine, but also of the city Florence!

Not a fan of either and are on the up where I live. But if I had to pick I'd say Alice (but that's my nieces name so biased Grin)

Florence.

I have a Florence, she is known as her full name only, I am sure that will change in time, and while before she was born I did not like the shortening Flo, if that is what she becomes then it will be fine because now that she is here it really does matter, she is more than her name if you get me.

Thanks for all your responses...I quite like flori as a nickname for Florence. Hopefully when we meet her it will be obvious if she is Alice or Florence!

There can only ever be one Florence and only Dylan

Alice - love it!

Florence reminds me of the Camerons. Prefer Flora!

I prefer Alice. Its a sweet little name.

Imo if you remove the current popularity for the name Florence, I don't think its a particularly nice name at all.

I also find it quite a masculine name for some reason which doesn't quite add up. Maybe its because its so like the name Laurence.

Alice. Much nicer than Florence IMO, and not as popular.

I like both (first time ever on a names thread) but Alice is my favourite because my friend is called Alice and she is just lovely.
