we once had a cat called Kizzy. It was the name of a girl in a TV programme when I was a kid

Only problem was we live din Saudi Arabia at the time. My mum used to go outside and call

Kiz Kiz Kiz Kiz Kizzy.

Much later a friend told us that Kizz(y) in Arabic is a slang word for vagina!! Blush

Isn't Pippa something similar in Italian as well?

JustCallMeBaldrick · 11/07/2013 07:13

I believe Zac sounds very similar to 'shit' in Arabic.

A bit roundabout, but one of my fave French names is Aurelie, until it was pointed out that all English people would pronounce it Orally...

God I'm thick... spent ages thinking what's funny in Grossvater. Blush

I've vetoed Persephone, because perse means an arse in Finnish.
We also won't have Tori (market place) or Lou (sounds like luu = bone). I'm sure there are others but brain not working.

Orla is generally translated from the Hebrew into English as foreskin or uncircumcision.
Sukey means 'bitches' in Russian.
Kiki is slang for fanjo in Tagalog.
