what is your first thought?

DS grin

I absolutely love this name and want it for our little one, but my dh is having none of it. Spoilsport.

mmmmmchocolate Tue 18-Jun-13 14:12:01

Ginger cat. Sorry.

lalalonglegs Tue 18-Jun-13 14:15:30

I really like this name - the only Arlo I have heard of is Arlo Guthrie who sings Alice's Restaurant.

BabsAndTheRu Tue 18-Jun-13 14:17:37

Love it and was about to post the same as lalalonglegs.

burberryqueen Tue 18-Jun-13 14:19:48

gertrudestein Tue 18-Jun-13 14:23:07

Cocodale Tue 18-Jun-13 14:23:26

Cute !!

Like it

ditsygem Tue 18-Jun-13 16:24:33

I think it's lovely

GingerCurry Tue 18-Jun-13 16:47:54

Not too keen myself.
I will sit in your DHs camp on this one.

MrsDeVere Tue 18-Jun-13 16:51:44

I LOVE it and I wish I had squeezed it in somewhere with my 5DCs.

It is destined to become a dog or cat name now because I am having no more babies sad

This explains my dogs Betty and Atticus grin

Elquota Tue 18-Jun-13 16:52:18

I like it.

AThingInYourLife Tue 18-Jun-13 16:55:36

4 years ago there were no Arlos (Guthrie aside).

Now there are many.

A child called Arlo is the poster boy for trendy, faddish names.

It is a good name though.

ImaginaryHat Tue 18-Jun-13 16:57:38

Love it, doesn't work with our surname though so will never get to use it sad

Damnautocorrect Tue 18-Jun-13 17:03:41

Have you ever been to harlow Essex?
Now say Harlow in a towie way, what do you get?
The name itself is lovely but that's what it makes me think of

MrsDeVere Tue 18-Jun-13 17:07:42

I live next to Essex. Harlow and Arlo are don't sound the same, even when I say them! grin

Heavywheezing Tue 18-Jun-13 17:10:00

There is/was somebody on 5live called Arlo White, which sounds a bit like Isle of Wight, so it depends on your surname, I suppose

burberryqueen Tue 18-Jun-13 20:15:07

now say Arlo in an upper middle class accent (thinking of nephew here) it sounds nothing like Harlow

Sanjifair Tue 18-Jun-13 21:51:49

The problem is that the Harlow locals pronounce it 'Arlo'. I just couldn't use it.

LittleMilla Tue 18-Jun-13 21:55:04

Really like it. Agree that is some parts it's becoming quite trendy so not sure how keen you are for a unique name?

5madthings Tue 18-Jun-13 21:57:36

Love it, its ds4's middle name.

And athing if you look at the name statistics there are not 'many' arlos at all.

allinatizz Tue 18-Jun-13 22:00:21

I liked it but DC2 turned out to be a girl. I still like it and have heard of 2 babies in the last 18 months with the name. Go for it, it isn't particularly popular, but it is nice.
