It's a girl! Shortlist decided but just can't choose.

We finally have a shortlist of 3 names for our little girl due in a few weeks:

India
Claudia
Merryn

Middle name is most likely going to be Fay (my mother's name)

I really love all of them but my reservations are:
India - a bit too leftfield?
Claudia - a bit harsh/stuffy?
Merryn - a bit plain?

These are only little niggles so really struggling to choose!
I just need some opinions! No holds barred smile

I don't care for Merryn at all India and Claudia are both beautiful names . I prefer India to Claudia but only by a smidgen .

This is all brilliant thank you! Not any closer to deciding but it has at least prompted some deeper discussion with my DH who has been a bit flippant about the whole decision making process!!
Will definitely take the advice about waiting until baby arrives before making final decision.

i think claudia-fay would be a nice double barrel name

I don't like Merryn at all. I like India, but think Claudia is beautiful.

I know a Merryn and 2 Mirrins.

Lovely, of yours I'd definitely go with that!

ChippingInWiredOnCoffee Mon 27-May-13 19:41:26

Claudia for sure smile

All nice, prefer Merryn from your list.

I love Claudia too. I dislike the other names.

Claudia is lovely. I much prefer it to Merryn or India, neither of which I care for.

Claudia was also the name of the main character in one of my favourite children's books, so it has only positive associations for me. smile

Have name-changed especially for this thread, so's not to out myself! My name is Claudia and I know no others. I really like my name and have always had lots of lovely comments about it. So you can guess which one of your choices I'd go for!

Yep Claudia Fay is gorgeous smile

Sunnysummer Sun 26-May-13 23:22:00

All so good! My favourite is Claudia - classic but uncommon, and Claudia Fay works so well.

Claudia!

I like Merryn best - before he was born DS was possibly going to be called Marin but luckily for him we came up with a boys' name instead. smile

Merryn is my favourite. I think it would suit any girl whereas the others I seem to have preconceptions about what type of girl they would suit iyswim. All nice names though.

India

Claudia is my fave of your three, and Claudia Fay goes very nicely.

Claudia. Merryn very vogue-ish at the moment, but i personally don't care for it. India is a bit 90s IMO.

I have a Claudia (pronounced Claw-dia) so love that choice. We call her 'Clo' for short

I will admit that I don't think it's a baby name but will come into its own when she's a toddler, and naturally as she gets older. I haven't met any others and people do look surprised when they hear it and most think its lovely and unusual.

Also like Merryn on your list. Reminds me of a girl I know who is Meredith but called Merry for short.

My dd2 is Claudia and I still adore the name! We haven't met any others either yet

I also love greta and Geraldine.
