I love it.

I only make boys personally but it would be my number one girl's name in a parallel universe. I'm not sure Ramona is so good for a boy. Grin

I love the name Ramona (I realised I liked it after watching Scott Pilgrim, and hearing this on the soundtrack

oooh good, my mum's response was that she'll be nicknamed moany... nice to have some positive responses!

Have no idea for a boys name though.

Makes me think of Ramona Quimby (?), from the books. Not sure if she is a positive role model or not, as I have never read them! Also makes me think of the Ramones.

Oh that's a really lovely name....unusual without being try-hard.

absolutely LOVE it. Probably because it makes me think of the Ramones...
best name I've seen spouted round here.

I have to look up Ramona Quimby now! and to my shame I don't know any Ramones songs off the top of my head!

So if we love M@rth@ and gret@ and Ramona, what boy's names should we also like?!

At a total loss for boys names.

It's a great name, & goes really nicely with your other DC (not that I think that sibling names have to "match").

(I have a little G too)

The only worry I have is that our surmane is 0wen, so not sure if Ram0na 0wen sounds a bit '0'-ey....

We've had a boy's name both previous pregnancies and I've gone off both of them!

I just really struggle with boy's names, I like solid but a bit unusual.

I sort of see what you mean about the preponderance of Os Grin but it wouldn't worry me overly. Will she have a middle name as well?

JoyMachine · 22/05/2013 21:58

I love Ramona because of the books!

I don't see how you could top Gret@ though, just dreamy.

I like it but....

feel it has to be pronounced with rolling rs a la Rrrrrrrrramoooona.

Don't know why. Think there was a character in cold feet - the nanny - who was called rrrrramona and was spanish.

Just another thought- you'd have three children ending in 'a' sound then too...

What about Romy or Romilly?

Or carry on in the SOM vein and have Brigitta?

Report
sillyoldfool · 22/05/2013 22:02

Grin Joymachine, I do love g's name.

She will have 2 middle names... That's a whole other topic, our girls each have a 'normal' middle name, then a slightly crazy hippy one, so we can't now call the 3rd something louise owen or similar!!!!!
