Boys Names - Cannot decide!!

Hello,

I'm new on here and have spent hours trawling through old posts on boys names and I still can't settle on one. I have the below shortlist that I change my mind on daily. Not even sure if it's a boy but have girls name sorted so would just really love opinions on what's good and bad from below....

Seth
Arlo
Elden
Arthur
Miles
Rupert

Some days I like them, some days I panic that I'll decide a year on I don't like one of them! :(

I love Seth and Miles.
Not really keen on Arlo or Rupert.
Arthur is not my favourite name, but it isn't bad either.

Love Seth and Miles from your list.

Seth - like, good classic name
Arlo - like
Elden - umm, never heard of this one. You'd be forever having to explain/spell
Arthur - OK, perhaps a bit fusty
Miles - great, like this
Rupert - rather stuffy

Out of your list Miles is the nicest.

I give you

Theo

Finn

Felix

What is it with Arlo and mumsnet! I have never come across this name in real life and tbh not convinced its really a name. Sounds like a brand of dog food or low-fat margerine. It's terrible and will date.

That off my chest Arthur and Rupert are fine and classic - though Rupert has camp bear associations. Seth sounds incomplete and has overtones of malice - have you read Cold Comfort Farm? Once read, Seth can never be forgotten!

Don't like Miles. Elden is weird. Sorry not to be more positive.

Maybe you would like:
Ethan
Sebastian (Seb)
Nathaniel (Nate)
Guy

Love love love Seth.
I like Miles and Rupert.
Arlo is a bit precious I think.
Arthur is very meh, and is everywhere.
I'm on the fence with Elden - I either love it or I hate it, I'm really not sure which! I think I might love it...!

And tbh, the one you decide on will be your DS's name, you will love it because it will be his name!

I like Elden, think its one if those where you'll end up living it when you get used to it / once you know the boy.

Thank you all for your comments, the honesty made me smile. I found myself wanting to defend certain names after some of the comments so I guess that means I have some faves after all! Everyone has such different taste I guess you have to just go with what you really like (within reason)

Seth - nice
Arlo - I quite like it
Elden - no, awful.
Arthur - no, a bit old man chic. I think it will date badly.
Miles - not keen at all.
Rupert - no!

I know three Arlo's IRL. Oddly one has a twin called Seth and the other has a sister called Eden.

Elden sounds like this is a piss take thread. The others are meh.

Of the ones on your list, I like Arthur and Miles the best.

Like Seth, Miles and Rupert.
Don't mind Arthur but I'd also be worried it'll date.
Arlo and Elden, meh.

Rupert is a great name - classic, easy to spell/pronounce and not overused.
I'm not keen on the sound of Seth, nor Arthur and Miles is too much like Kilometres (in uk anyway).

How about Alden instead of Elden?

I like Rupert and Arlo from your list. Seth sounds a little lispy and the Arty Farty association of Arthur would put me off.

I'm expecting ds3 in approx. 4 weeks and been really struggling too. From your list, Miles is my favourite and is actually the highest on our list too. But like you say, you'll always find someone who doesn't like a name so go with what YOU like :)
