Just got new wallpaper that's the penguin classics books. Looking at Aldous Huxley multiple times a day (30 weeks pg!).

Is Huxley cool or am I losing it. Already got a DS called Wilf(red). I like slightly more left field names - Blaise, Rafferty and Heath all in the mix too.

Meant to say, wallpaper in downstairs loo!! Ha ha.

I like it - but did think Huxley Pig!

Taranta Sat 11-May-13 21:23:59

I know a baby boy Huxley, its a cute name.

miffybun73 Sat 11-May-13 21:26:24

Straight away I thought Huxley Pig - very cute cartoon character smile

I like it very much. I do love boy's names with an x in though for some reason.

I know a baby Aldous!

LittleMilla Sat 11-May-13 21:30:51

<nips off to google Huxley pig>

Will he get bullied?

MummyBurrows Sat 11-May-13 21:31:07

To be honest my first response was "Huxley?! What kind of name is that?!" ...sorry... Aldous sounds much more "normal" though!

Sorry, another Huxley Pig association here.

Beamur Sat 11-May-13 21:38:01

It's an interesting one - but my first thought was Huxley Pig! But these associations don't always last that long.

PartyFops Sat 11-May-13 21:38:17

I know a huxley and he is super cute.

I thought "Aldous Huxley".

Nothing wrong with Huxley as a name, it's no different from any other surnamey names such as Harley, Harvey etc.

ItsallisnowaFeegle Sun 12-May-13 16:53:19

Yep, another one who thought Huxley Pig...--has the tune in my head now. Who you gonna be today Huxley Pig oink oink--

I think it's a cool name though and only those of us of a certain age would be likely to make the connection.

I know a gorgeous Huxley!

gillywillywoo Sun 12-May-13 17:18:26

Not a fan. Love Heath though x

Leeds2 Sun 12-May-13 17:26:08

It sounds a bit like a dog's name to me.

Mellymog Sun 12-May-13 18:29:18

i immediately thought 'pig', sorry.

sleepingbeautiful Sun 12-May-13 18:45:01

Yup, another pig thought. Plus I think it feels clumsy on the tongue.
Love Heath though. That was on our back-up list in case DS didn't seem like our #1 pick.

barnet Sun 12-May-13 18:55:40

Huxley is great. I love names with 'x's. Rafferty and Heath are also good, and all good with Wilf.

barnet Sun 12-May-13 18:56:18

Ive not heard of the Huxley pig!

olivertheoctopus Sun 12-May-13 22:02:12

I love Wilf! Huxley works quite well with Wilf but is a bit more 'out there' IMO.

i know a Huxley, he is a gorgeous little boy. Some of his friends call him Hux, none of them have a clue who Huxley pig was, so unless they bring back Pipkin (was it?) then I think the pig reference is safe.
Go for it!
