honest thoughts, too much of a mouthful?

Dh and I don't know what gender bambino we're having and still have plenty of time (I'm currently 27 weeks) we've come up with and agreed on Boys names pretty quickly. but girls names are proving difficult, that said think we may have settled on a first name, Lila (p. Lie-La) with a potential middle name of Erica.

what do you think? bit of a mouthful?

I love Lila.

Can't abide Erica.

I think its lovely smile certainly not a mouthful imo but perhaps consider Erin if its Erica you're worried about?

FlightyAphrodite Thu 09-May-13 16:05:08

Hmm Lila Erica...they're both lovely but I don't like the way they both end I "a", it doesn't flow. As pp suggested how about Lila Erin?

JuliaScurr Thu 09-May-13 16:05:09

better as Erica Lila - vowel/vowel results in adding an R

Lila eve?

I dislike Lila (although if you like it, go for it).

No one ever uses all names, except when getting baptised or married.

Or mothers, when really, really angry.

I don't think Lila Erica really flows to be honest. I think there are two many vowels and the names flow into one another. If you want those I would do two middle names to break them up.

They will be said together very infrequently.

Or split them with something else consonanty like Kate or Ruth?

Agree Erica Lila flows really well, but not sure about the other way round.

FoofFighter Thu 09-May-13 18:31:14

Doesn't matter a jot if it flows or not, who ever gets called by all their names anyway? hmm

AmandaPayneNeedsANap Thu 09-May-13 18:33:41

But if it doesn't matter if it flows, why even bother with a middle name, unless it is to honour a relative (in which case people normally mention it. But if that is the case, I agree, who cares if it flows). Other than doing that, what's the point of a middle name except to sound nice on the odd occasion you say the whole thing.

Sounds lovely to me smile

YY Erica Lila

I don't think either are a mouthful at all. Both short and easy to say.

TheRealFellatio Fri 10-May-13 04:18:46

Oh sorry misread the post. I thought it was either/or as a first name.

OK Lila Erica doesn't flow for me, sorry.

It's Lila ending in a vowel and Erica starting in one that's the problem.

I love Lila, that's top of our girls list.. DH liked lila grace but my first thought was Kate moss' daughter!
