We are ttc but have been tossing names around for a while now smile

I love the name Greyson, Dh loves the name Grey which i am more than happy to use as a nick name but would prefer our child to have a longer name DH not a fan of Greyson, are there any other alternatives out there?

I also like:

Cole - My all time most favourite name, Dh hates this
Jonah - we both like this
Caleb - not sold on it
Ralph - i love dh is meh

any suggestions?

Graham?

MolotovCocktail Sun 24-Mar-13 18:47:15

Greyson is fab - can't you work on convincing your DH as to the merits o this name some more?

There's Graham I suppose not as cool as Greyson

I love Jonah.

Don't mind 'Grey' either but, since you asked I think Greyson is awful.

cookielove Sun 24-Mar-13 18:50:01

I quite like Greyer too but i doesn't feel like a name if that makes sense?

Ooh no can't stand Graham (although i never thought of that) its so boring not me smile

I think both Grey and Greyson are dreadful.

I do like Jonah and Caleb and Cole is OK but Ralph doesn't appeal much.

Grayden?

BackforGood Sun 24-Mar-13 19:06:46

I was going to say Graham too smile
I have to say, Jonah is the only one of those I'd contemplate.
'Grey' just conjures up pictures of doom and gllom to me.

Still - each to their own.

Grayden, reminds me of the Jayden, Hayden theme which i do not like.

Back i do like Jonah, but have lots of comments about the whale hmm although it doesn't actually bother me if adults don't like the name but i wouldn't want my child to bullied because of their name. Also Jonah is very close to Jonas which imo is bleurgh.

I think on this one i am gonna have to bully dh into Greyson if we have a boy.

Greyson? As in Larry? Sorry, that's a no from me.

Maryz Sun 24-Mar-13 19:24:39

I really wouldn't atm.

Not so soon after the 50 Shades obsession hmm

I like Jonah, very cool.

cookielove Sun 24-Mar-13 19:25:58

Never read 50 shades!!!

No clue who Larry is!!!

PortBlacksandWhitesnow Sun 24-Mar-13 19:28:04

Grayson Perry is very cool.

Ralph makes me think of willies but i am of a certain age wink

tilder Sun 24-Mar-13 19:30:42

Fifty shades is a lot more contemporary (larry was a very camp tv presenter from the seventies).

devonsmummy Sun 24-Mar-13 19:33:16

I love The name Grey and was going to say Greyson!
Both were Veto'd by DH
How about Grady?

AntsMarching Sun 24-Mar-13 19:33:26

Grady?

cookielove Sun 24-Mar-13 19:34:36

I know what 50 shades is about and the lead character it just never interested me to read, went to popular to fast and what it essentially is, is shit fan fiction from what i have heard. Not my kind of reading. Its already beginning to loose it's status as the best book ever <sarcasm>

A camp tv presenter doesn't put me off either.

Ralph and willies your gonna have to explain that one??

cookielove Sun 24-Mar-13 19:35:09

Hmmmm Grady thats different, i quite like it grin

Maryz Sun 24-Mar-13 19:37:32

I haven't read it either, but everyone seems to have.

PortBlacksandWhitesnow Sun 24-Mar-13 19:38:20

"A camp tv presenter doesn't put me off either"

Just as well ... Paul o Grady grin

PortBlacksandWhitesnow Sun 24-Mar-13 19:39:15

Ralph was the name of the lead boy's williie in Judy Bloom's Forever soft porn for early teens

Ruined the name forever for me it has....

PortBlacksandWhitesnow Sun 24-Mar-13 19:41:56

Looking at your list you should also consider Wulfric nn Wolfie
'Twould be next on my list except one of my DCs has a very similar name.

Sorry, it is very close to fifty shades.

Ralph is the name of the willy in Judy Bloom's forever?

PurpleStorm Sun 24-Mar-13 19:48:15

I can't imagine a willy called Ralph. Surely most of them don't have names???

makingdoo Sun 24-Mar-13 19:49:57

Love Grey and Greyson. Very modern but can imagine a boy, a teenager and a man called Grey (this is how I try and decide if a name is suitable or not)

I'd just call him Grey. No longer name needed.
