Isn't Addison a boy's name? It means Son of Adam or something like that?

As Addison is definitely modern, I'd go for something traditional
Addison Elizabeth
Addison Mary
Addison Jane
or even better a family name if you have one.

I like Addison Mary and Addison Lucy a lot. Have just read another post with everyone saying Addison is a boys name and they hate it. I may rethink as no gender ambiguity was one of my rules.

Here was me thinking Addison was a boys name...

Know a girl Addison born last year. It's a unisex name like Robin/Robyn. Don't know if she has a middle name.

There is a disease called Addison's Disease, but if that isn't an issue for you, Addison Lara could work.

I assumed it was a boys' name too, or a surname. Seems a weird name for a little girl blush

5madthings Sun 10-Mar-13 17:54:17

I know Addison as a girls name and it was on my list for dd but dp didn't like it.

Addison rose?

FlowerBird, I don't hate it, I just wasn't sure smile.
I did have a google of the name after I posted and it is a name that is given to girls but according to the the Meaning of names thingy it isn't a legitimate unisex name because of the masculine meaning.

I've only ever heard it as a boy's name.

The name Robin means Bright Fame so it's not quite the same as the meaning isn't masculine.

Any name with Son on the end is masculine as it usually means "Son of..."

Addison is awful. It's a surname, a disease.

There are so many beautiful girls names, why would you saddle a girl with Addison?

Rhubarbgarden Sun 10-Mar-13 19:33:01

Sounds like Alison said with a cold.

cuillereasoupe Mon 11-Mar-13 15:20:36

Sorry, it sounds very masculine (Joseph Addison) and very diseasy to me too.

Well as a huge Greys Anatomy/Private Practice fan I vote Addison Montgomery grin

Disease was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw "Addison".

I have a 2yo Addison, she had a long, classic family name as her middle name.
