So today dd points out a girl from nursery at the supermarket today called Vanilla? I thought I picked her up wrong but no her dad called her it! Definitely one of the strangest names I have heard in a while. I know technically its a plant extract and some would argue its a plant name but really! I just think of vanilla flavoured food! Any other food type names out there?

I was renamed 'Nigeria' by one of DSs little pals when he was in Reception. I gave up correcting her and got used to it.
No definitely vanilla I asked another mum from nursery maybe hearing it in a very broad Scottish accent makes it sound harsh! In highlander style gruff scots it's Vaaa-niilllahh lol it just doesn't suit a child at all IMO !
