I love the name Corin for a boy, but DH hates it and everyone else I mention it to thinks it's a girl's name. Does anyone have any suggestions for other names I might like? Anyone else had it on their shortlist? what did you choose in the end?

We loved Corin too and would have used it but we kept having girls! Other names for us were Torin and Rowan. We have one DS called Oisín.

But is it the Cor- bit that you like most, or the -in ending?

Corin sounds very masculine to me. The girls' version is Corinne, with the emphasis on the inne.

You say that, but I knew a Corinne who was pronounced with the stress on the first syllable, same as Corin. I don't think I've ever met another Corinne, tbh.

I know a French and German Corinne and Corinna, both emphasising the second syllable. Think that sounds much more feminine.

I know a Corin, pronounced COR-in. Don't think anyone ever confused him with a girl smile. The feminine version is indeed Corinne and sounds very different - Cor-INNE.

Similar names that I like include
Reuben
Quentin
Torin

I wanted Corbin (meaning 'raven') but had girls so never got to use it.
