Going to buck the trend here and say that Casper is okay (just about) but not with Amadeus. Sorry OP, it's just too pretentious to my ears.

Haha no Amadeus isn't our surname - we are thinking of using it as a middle name (never a first name, poor child!) possibly after Mozart.
I love Casper because its so cute!! Still not sure about nicknames - Cas sounds a bit girly to me (Cassandra).

Go for it. I know a Casper.

Oh sorry, is Amadeus your surname? ignore me!

Think of both names with your surname (don't have to tell us) - do the initials spell or hint at something?

He may hear a snigger or two when he reveals his second name. But running them together to get Cam for nickname?

Ohhh i like it. grin

Don't think i'd be brave enough to name my own child it, though. More a name i would admire from a distance.

Only NN i can think of is Casp or Caspie.

Thanks!
