Since I have had to rule out Harper as a first name (not because of posh n becks but due to rhyming with my potential future surname)

Which of these girls names do you hate the least...

Vivian
Caroline
Heather
Susannah

Am trying to find the middle ground between 'every other girl in the same school class' and 'so odd nobody has no idea how to spell it' without going down the 'old classics about to explode in popularity'

Strewth...

They are all lovely names! Susannah Caroline is my top combination for a FN & MM and has been for a long time! They are both chosen for family reasons on my part, but they are both beautiful, classic but not overly common names. I have seen Susannah appearing a bit more, but have yet to meet a young child/new baby with this name recently.

Heather & Vivian are lovely as well, I would struggle to chose out of your list!

Thank you!
My tastes are very different from a lot of my friends so I wasn't sure how they would be received Smile

Out of those i like Vivienne < spelled that way though

Eskino · 08/02/2013 22:07

Susannah is lovely. I don't like Heather or Caroline but I'm in the age group where there are lots of ladies with names like that that I went to school with. So they seem very parochial to me.

Prefer Vivienne to Vivian which is the boys version I think.

TastesLikePanda · 08/02/2013 22:09

Oops - hadn't considered the spelling of vivian/Vivienne... I do mean the girl way!

I love Susannah and would use it if it worked with our surname!

Also like Vivian and Caroline. Am less keen on Heather but that may be because
I love the film Heathers...

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 08/02/2013 22:25

Torn here, they are all nice names! Always liked Caroline, and Vivian/Vivienne has grown on me over the past 10 years. Tbh I haven't met a Susan(nah) under 40 - more Suzannes, though still infrequent - whereas know quite a few Heathers, perhaps because I live in Scotland.

Not very helpful sorry but you can't lose with any of these imo.

MustafaCake · 08/02/2013 22:26

Love Vivienne

Caroline is nice too.

Don't like the other 2 at all I'm afraid.

WannabeWilloughby · 08/02/2013 22:28

Love Love Love Susannah! Very pretty name. Smile

ImNotaPheasantPlucker · 08/02/2013 22:29

Susannah, definitely Susannah

Rhubarbgarden · 08/02/2013 22:36

Another vote for Susannah.

MoppingMummy · 08/02/2013 22:50

Susannah

NowPlayingZone · 09/02/2013 11:49

Susannah.
They're all good choices, but I'd say Vivienne was my least fave as don't like nn 'viv'.

badtime · 09/02/2013 13:54

I like Susannah and Vivien or Viviane (Vivian is more usually for boys and I find Vivienne too frilly).

Nancy66 · 09/02/2013 15:41

I don't mind Caroline but don't like any of the others....they just seem like middle-aged middle england housewife names - on a par with Linda and Sheila

BlueChampagne · 09/02/2013 23:00

Caroline or Susannah, but Like Vivienne too. Not so keen on Heather but that's just me. Great taste!

mathanxiety · 10/02/2013 02:37

I like Vivienne, Caroline and Susannah.

I really dislike Heather. To me it's an airhead/cheerleader name and not at all in the same league as the others.

DessieLou · 10/02/2013 04:06

All lovely and On my list except Vivienne as I know one that's a nasty price of work. If I forget about that connection it's a nice enough name though. You have great taste!
